Our Covid-19 Response

Got symptoms? - Important!

DO NOT send your child to school to school if they (or anyone else in the household) have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19, which according to the Government are:

a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If someone in your household does have symptoms (even if they are part of a cold), the whole household should self-isolate and the person with symptoms tested. If the test comes back negative then the household can come out of self-isolation and the child/ren may return to school (if they no longer have symptoms). We also ask that you send us proof of any test results.

Covid 19 Safety Measures - What are we doing?

We have implemented a number of measures to help keep our children, staff and families safe by making it more difficult for the virus to spread in school.

We have:

Introduced ‘Class Bubbles’ - ensuring that classes do not mix through:

  • exclusive building entrances and exits for individual ‘bubbles’ where possible.
  • staggering shared entrances and exits.
  • changes lunchtime routines including limited classes in the hall and using classrooms.
  • exclusive toilet cubicles and sinks for individual ‘bubbles’ to avoid contact points.
  • staggered playtimes and areas.
  • individual ‘bubble’ equipment for playtimes.
  • staff matched to ‘bubbles’; limiting staff crossing bubbles whenever possible.

Reorganised classrooms to:

  • support distancing where possible in younger classes.
  • ensure front-facing seating in older classes.
  • ensure 2m distance between staff and children.
  • pencil cases with individual equipment.

Hand washing

  • Hand sanitiser used for all children at key points during the day, including when entering and exiting buildings.
  • Regular routine of hand washing in class.
  • Sanitisation stations for staff around the school.
  • Sanitisation point at main entrance for all visitors.
  • Regular reminders to children about hand washing when using toilet facilities.

Site organisation

  • Limited visiting adults on site.
  • All visits must be prearranged.
  • Specified entrance and exit gates on site.
  • Defined queuing areas for parent pick up and drop times.
  • Clear social distancing markings and signs around the site.
  • Designated group work areas outside of bubbles with clear distancing and screens (areas cleaned between group use).
  • Directional markings in corridors

Additional measures

  • Enhanced cleaning each day.
  • Social distancing between staff at all times.
  • Social distancing between school members (staff and children) and visiting adults at all times.
  • Social distancing between staff and children whenever possible.
  • Social distancing between children if possible.
  • Mask and face visors used by staff in all common areas.
  • Face coverings required for all visiting adults on site at all times (including parents and carers)
  • Cleaning materials available in key points across the site.
  • Current local and national restrictions and measures shared regularly with children.
