Sound.

This half term we worked for Crankpot Industries as scientists researching sound for his education website. We enjoyed looking into sound and how our ears pick up vibrations.  We created detailed diagrams of the ear and labelled each part.  Professor Crankpot used our labels for his website.  We conducted an experiment which allowed us to see sound as the vibrations from tuning forks hit water.

We wrote non chronological reports all about sound and Professor Crankpot was thoroughly pleased with our efforts.  We had a particular focus on Michael Morpurgo stories in our narrative and tried to write stories which in his style.  We tried to use language to  create images in the  readers mind. Our use of similes and metaphors helped us to achieve this.  In PE we worked hard to improve our throwing and catching skills in netball and came together in teams to have a competitive game.  Our footwork still needs to improve as Mrs Patterson had to blow the whistle too many times! It has been a super final half term in Sycamore Class.
