Flowers in bloom!
This half term we have been working for Regina at Flowerton Enterprises. Our task was finding out all about plants for the Chelsea Flower Show. We have been working hard to find out what plants need to live, understand their life cycles and know the different parts that make up a plant and flower.
We have used this learning along with our research of famous artist Georgia O’Keefe, to create flower artwork using a canvas and water colours.
In English we have focussed our learning on explanation texts and cultural stories. We have learned about the features of these texts and created our own. Our study of the water cycle was presented through our own creation of explanation texts.
In maths we have been learning about shapes, measures and written method (grid method) for multiplication. We now know different units of measure, how to measure accurately using different instruments and how to measure the perimeter of shapes. We have also found out about the properties of 3d shapes and used this to construct our own.
