Daring Designers!
This half term Beech Class have been working for Olive Stein at Portal Design. The children have been creating artwork in the style of Piet Mondrian using paints in the primary colours.
The children used globes and Google maps to find Africa and the UK. They researched the human and physical differences and features of the two places. They learned about the continents and oceans of the world. They designed a leaflet for tourists coming to visit Africa.
The children have also learned how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s and used these skills to help with some multiplication calculations. They used repeated addition and then arrays to show their workings out.
The children have listened to lots of Jill Murphy stories and written a story in the style of ‘Peace At Last’. The children have listened to a range of poems and designed and wrote lots of poems with Easter themes.
