Extraordinary Explorers!
This half term, Beech class have been working for Regina Flowerton and Flowerton Enterprises. Regina firstly came to us with a problem about plants and animals. As part of Flowerton Enterprises, Regina has a garden centre to maintain and run. She needed help naming parts of a plant and animals in the local area. We researched plants and animals and wrote fact sheets. We labelled parts of a plant and went on a plant and animal hunt around the local area. We visited a local farm and learned all about the animals and plants there. We even got to feed and hold some of the animals! Another job she asked us to complete was for the finance department in the garden centre. They needed us to measure amounts of water to water certain types of plants. We measured amounts using standard and non-standard units. We also had to add and subtract amounts of wages for the staff working there. The last job we completed for her was to write an adventure story about Regina herself, to display in the garden centre and for the visitors to read whilst there.
