Leonardo’s Art Gallery

This term Leonardo Da Vinci has asked us to look after a very special painting. We found out that the lady in the painting was called Mona Lisa. It is a very special and famous painting. We decided to create our own Art gallery and we looked at other paintings and drawings of Leonardo Da Vinci.  We also created our own art work using different media and displayed it in our Gallery. Leonardo visited and loved what he saw. Acorn Class then discovered that Leonardo was also a scientist and inventor. He invented different machines including a flying machine. We looked at different machines such as helicopters, aeroplanes and rockets. We created our own flying machine using wood. We were very careful used saws and hammers.

Finally Leonardo sent his friend Vincent Van Gogh to see us. He asked us to recreate one of his famous paintings ‘Starry Night’ but he wants it on a big scale. We used sponges and fingers to paint with!
