Rainbow Station

‘Bubble time’ is a system in school that allows all children to let an adult know if they are worried about something or would like to talk. Children are encouraged to talk to their class teacher and other adults in school, however if they feel they would like to talk to someone in the Rainbow Station they can use bubble time. Each child has their own special ‘peg’ which in located in their classroom. If they have a concern or need a chat they can simply take their peg and clip it onto the bubble time line in the Rainbow Station. They then know that an adult will come and find them for a special chat in the Rainbow Station.

Ask any child or adult at Bedlington Station Primary School  and they will tell you the ‘The Rainbow  Station’ is a very special place indeed. The Rainbow Station is staffed by Mrs Johnston (Senior HLTA) and Mrs Rozgowska (Inclusion Mentor) and is accessed by children across the school at a variety of times and for variety of reasons. The philosophy behind the Rainbow Station is one of support, inclusion and care. All are welcome in the Rainbow Station and children in school can’t wait to walk through the door.

In the Rainbow Station a range of tailored programmes are used to support children with their academic, social and emotional needs. The Rainbow Station is open outside of lesson times too. All children can join in the fun of the Rainbow Station at lunchtimes.

Below are some of the ways The Rainbow Station helps children in our school to feel safe, secure, motivated and celebrated.
