Jungle Journey

This term we have joined Rikki our new friend on a journey all the way to the Jungle. Rikki gave us tickets and after deciding what we should take with us we set of in our aeroplane to the jungle. We set up camp and looked in information books to see which animals we may see. We made binoculars to help us see the monkeys in the trees. In our information hut we could draw pictures and write about jungle animals. We counted monkeys and put the numbers in the right order. We explored long and short by making snakes of different lengths. Some jungle animals have beautiful patterns and we made our own repeating patterns on our snakes. We found delicious fruit which we all enjoyed eating.

Outside we made our own camp - cooking - using grass! We fished for piranhas recognising and naming numbers. We looked at bugs in the jungle and compared them with bugs we could find in our garden. Finally Guy the Bug man came to show us his collection of jungle bugs from south america. We were able to look at touch and sometimes hold stick insects, giant snails, gekko, tarantula, and even a snake!

Time to come back home we made sure we took all our rubbish and left the jungle as we had found it. We will come back soon!
